The weekends are notorious for lounging around in your pajamas and watching movies. I love curling up with a blanket and falling into a storyline for two hours, forgetting whatever else has gone on during the week. Because of this, I've decided that, every so often, I would make a movie list for your weekend viewing pleasure! This week, I feel like getting lost in some beautiful scenery...

The Great Gatsby came out in 1974 and is based on everyone's favorite summer reading novel! I love the costumes, the estate Gatsby lives on, and all of the gorgeous parties...

I heard there is a new one coming out this year with Leonardo DiCaprio playing the role of Gatsby, but I have a feeling this will still be my favorite version because of two words: Robert Redford.

I love all Woody Allen movies because they are just so beautiful. His writing and directing has a way of taking you back to what the old movies used to be like, even if they are set in the present day! Scoop is a mystery that takes place in London and Scarlet Johansson is perfect in her role as a Journalism student from the U.S. investigating a murder...

And since we are on the subject of Woody Allen movies, if you haven't seen Midnight in Paris, watch it! You can see a review I did a few months ago Over Here!...

You've Got Mail is one of those romantic comedies of the 90s the we all love. It takes you back to a time when chat rooms were cool and AOL instant messenger was the best way to fall in love (I'm glad the times have changed). Besides Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan's presence, my absolute favorite thing about this movie is Meg Ryan's Upper West Side apartment...

I will forever love all things shabby chic and this space epitomizes the look. I would live there in a heartbeat...

Atonement is another gem I recently discovered. I can't believe I hadn't seen this movie before! It's set during World War Two and along with beautiful scenes, has a plot with plenty of twists and turns. The estate where the beginning of the film takes place is called Stokesay Court, a gorgeous English Manor...

Atonement also features Keira Knightley in this to die for emerald dress. I want it!

The Secret Garden takes me back the the 1st grade! It has English accents, a beautiful manor, and thousands of flowers! What more do you need?!

And, lastly, everyone's favorite self indulgent royal, Marie Antoinette! This movie is full of colorful macaroons, ridiculously beautiful costumes, and plenty of colorful roses and flowers.

My favorite scenes are at her farm house she had created on Versailles property. The girl had it going on, but we all know how the story ends...
Have a beautiful, relaxing weekend!
