My Weekend and February Goals...

This weekend involved a lot of time reading outside in my PJ's. It was a little chilly down here in South Florida (If you consider mid 60s chilly), so I grabbed a blanket and a cup of coffee, laid on my porch, and read a few books I've been meaning to get to...

I finished Dolly Parton's new book, Dream More, and absolutely loved it! Actually, I pretty much love everything she does, so it's no surprise that I enjoyed it so much. She based it on her 2009 University of Tennessee commencement speech (the year I graduated), and she expounded on a few of the points she made during the speech. Her success and positive attitude are truly inspiring, so if you love Dolly and want to read something uplifting, give it a try! Her autobiography is pretty awesome, too. It has a permanent place on my bookshelf...

I also did a little thrifting and found these two beauties for $15 each! The purple dress is Marc Jacobs and the orange and white one is Lilly Pulitzer-perfect for a UT game! Both of these are a little big on me, but whenever I thrift, I don't pay a whole lot of attention to sizes because I can always get things altered. Thrifting is so fun down here because you never know what you'll find-It's like a treasure hunt!

I spent all day Sunday cooking for a Super Bowl party we hosted. Pulled pork with macaroni and cheese was on the menu, along with a few dips and brownies...

The smell of the pork shoulder roasting all day was making Christine go crazy! You better believe she stood under everyone that was eating and caught anything that fell of of their plates!

I took a little time to write out my goals for February. Sorry about the handwriting-it's never been cute, but what can you do?! I'll explain a few of the goals:
1) I purchased an inexpensive mini greenhouse to plant my seedlings in this month. It's more like a little shelf with plastic, but it will definitely help everything grow.
5) I've got a pile of magazines that's about a mile high that I need to go through. I have a binder that I put all of the good recipes and articles in, then I recycle whatever is left. It keeps the clutter to a minimum!
7) My grandparents stay down here during the winter and many of my cousins come down for vacation, so I need to make a better effort than last year to hang out!
12) That says "Watch." My typing is way better than my handwriting! You were warned :)
